Change, aging, honesty and vulnerability
Concept/Script/Performance/Directing by Karola Lüttringhaus
This project examines our relationship to our bodies. Very different people, some dancers, some not, of different ages, skinny, obese, pregnant, differently-abled or elderly create solos about the personality of skin.
I want to catch a glimpse of the reality of human existence, of body, flesh and life. I see this project as an opportunity to cast aside the sexualization of the naked body, and to allow ourselves a true glance into who we really are and what we really look like.
Challenging our automatic responses to stereotype, categorize and reduce, this project is not about the body's appearance, but about what the body tells about us, how we live in it, how we relate to it.
per.me.able. is a piece about the beauty of honesty.
