Karola Luettringhaus/Alban Elved Dance Company is looking for dancers of all abilities/levels and actors of all ages to be part of a new piece entitled "Switchman".
It is based on the switchman scene in "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exupery. The piece is dynamic, precise, athletic (with floor work and partnering as well as complex group choreography/group partnering), and incorporates a small amount of improvisational elements.
The piece depicts the quick and unpredictable changes and polarization in society from everyday life to an autocratic system and war/genocide.
Goals:
Rehearsal dates and times: tbd with everyone involved on the first meeting or in response to emails from interested participants. Send us your statement of interest and availabilty for rehearsals. Ideal would be 2 hrs per rehearsal twice a week.
The choreography already exists as a concept and script and is ready to be staged with actual dancers/actors in space. Specific elements such as partnering interactions and group relations/formations and other choreographic details will be worked out in the studio with everyone together.

- to be part of and enjoy the creative choreographic process with a professional choreographer
- create an approximately 10 minute long dance-theatre piece
- performance opportunity in Charlotte, NC May 23-26, 2024 (compensated, details tbd)
